We haul almost everything. Furniture, appliances, construction debris, yard waste, electronics, mattresses, boxes, tools, all of it. But there is a short list of items that we, and most junk removal companies in DFW, cannot legally take. Here's what that list looks like and where those items actually need to go.

What we won't take

Hazardous household waste

Paint, motor oil, pesticides, fertilizers, pool chemicals, and solvents can't go in a standard haul truck because they can't go in a standard landfill. They require special disposal. Tarrant County and Dallas County both run household hazardous waste. HHW) drop-off events several times a year, check your county's environmental services website for upcoming dates. The City of Fort Worth also operates a permanent HHW facility.

Propane tanks

Full or partially full propane tanks are a fire hazard in a truck with other items. Most hardware stores. Home Depot, Lowe's, Blue Rhino locations, will exchange or accept empty tanks. For full tanks you no longer want, call your local fire department for guidance. They'll point you to the right option.

Asbestos-containing materials

Homes built before 1980 in Grapevine and across DFW may have asbestos in insulation, floor tiles, or siding. If you're not sure, don't touch it and don't have it hauled. Get it tested by a licensed asbestos inspector first. Removal requires a licensed abatement contractor and specific disposal protocols. This is one where doing it wrong has real health and legal consequences.

Medical waste and sharps

Needles, syringes, and other medical sharps need to go in a proper sharps container and be disposed of through a pharmacy drop-off program or a medical waste service. Many Walgreens and CVS locations in DFW accept sharps containers. Don't put them loose in a trash bag.

Gasoline and other flammable liquids

Same category as hazardous household waste. Old gas in a lawn mower tank or stored in a can needs to go through an HHW drop-off, not a junk truck.

Things people think we won't take, but we do

There's some confusion around a few items that are actually fine:

  • Refrigerators and AC units. We haul these. We handle the refrigerant properly. It's a standard part of the job.
  • Old TVs and electronics. Fine to haul. We take them to a certified e-waste recycler, not the landfill.
  • Mattresses. Common item, no problem.
  • Tires. We can take a reasonable number. A full truckload of tires gets complicated, call ahead.
  • Hot tubs. We take these. It's heavy work and priced accordingly, but we do it.
  • Pianos. Same, heavy, takes more crew, priced for it, but we haul them.
  • Construction debris. Drywall, tile, lumber, concrete, all fine. Heavy material is priced by weight and volume.

When in doubt, just call

If you're not sure whether we'll take something, a two-minute phone call settles it. We'd rather you ask upfront than find out on the day of the job that one item in a big load can't go. Tell us what you have and we'll tell you exactly what we can do with it.

Have a mixed load? We handle most of it.

Call and run through your list. We'll tell you what we take, what we can't, and what to do with the exceptions.
