Junk removal from an apartment works the same as from a house with one difference: the building gets involved. Elevators, loading docks, parking restrictions, and lease requirements add steps that do not exist in a single-family home. None of it is a problem, but knowing it upfront makes the job go smoother.

Check with management before scheduling

Most apartment communities in the DFW area have specific rules about move-out and large item removal. Common requirements include reserving the freight elevator in advance, using a specific entrance, limiting hours for crews with trucks, and sometimes requiring a certificate of insurance from any contractor coming onto the property. Call your leasing office before booking us and ask what they require. That conversation takes five minutes and prevents day-of surprises.

Elevator reservation

In mid-rise and high-rise apartment buildings, the freight elevator is typically reserved through the management office. Booking a slot early morning on a weekday is usually easier to get than weekend slots. Let us know the reservation time and we will arrive to match it. We have worked with apartment buildings across the DFW metro and know how to time the job around the elevator window.

Truck parking

Getting the truck close to the building matters. A long carry from your floor to a truck parked far away adds significant time and cost. Before we arrive, check whether there is a designated loading zone, whether it needs to be reserved, and whether a parking permit is required for a commercial truck. Let us know what you find out. We will work within whatever the building allows.

Ground-floor units

If you are on the ground floor, most of this does not apply. We treat a ground-floor apartment the same as a house: we load directly from the unit and the job goes fast. Mention that you are ground floor when you call and we will quote accordingly.

Lease-end cleanouts

The most common apartment junk removal call is a lease-end cleanout: the furniture that is not going to the next place, the accumulated stuff, the items that were easier to leave. Your lease almost certainly requires the apartment to be empty when you hand over the keys. We clear it and leave it broom-clean. See our move-out cleanout guide for the full process.

What it costs

Apartment junk removal is priced the same as any other job, by volume. The access situation affects time, which can affect cost. A ground-floor unit with easy truck access prices exactly like a house. A sixth-floor unit with a single freight elevator window prices slightly higher because the job takes longer. Call and describe your situation and we will give you an honest number on the phone.
