Office relocations, downsizes, and buildouts leave behind large quantities of furniture that needs to go quickly. Desks, task chairs, cubicle systems, filing cabinets, conference tables, and break room appliances cannot go in regular trash and are too heavy for employees to deal with on their own. Here is how office furniture disposal works in Grapevine and across the DFW metro.
What we haul from offices
- Desks and workstations. L-shaped, standing, and traditional desks of any size. We handle disassembly if needed.
- Task chairs and seating. Office chairs, guest chairs, conference chairs, and reception seating.
- Cubicle systems. Panel systems, including disassembly on-site if the panels are still standing. This is more labor-intensive and priced accordingly.
- Filing cabinets. Lateral and vertical, metal and wood. Empty them of documents before we arrive.
- Conference tables. Often large and require disassembly to move through doorways.
- Break room appliances. Refrigerators, microwaves, coffee makers, dishwashers.
- Shelving and storage units. Open shelving, bookcases, and storage systems.
- Electronics. Old monitors, printers, phones, and miscellaneous equipment. These go to certified e-waste recyclers.
Before the crew arrives
Empty all filing cabinets and storage. Documents, especially financial records and personnel files, need to be handled separately. Shred or properly dispose of sensitive documents before the crew comes. We haul the empty furniture, not the contents.
Confirm building access. Office buildings often have freight elevator reservations, loading dock access requirements, and hours restrictions for commercial vendors. Confirm these with building management before scheduling. Let us know the access details when you call.
Identify what is staying. Clearly mark or physically separate anything that remains in the space. In an office cleanout, mixed signals about what goes and what stays cost time.
Pricing for office furniture disposal
Office furniture disposal is priced by volume and labor. A single office with a desk, chair, and filing cabinet runs $150 to $250. A full floor or suite cleanout with cubicles, conference furniture, and appliances runs $500 to $1,500 depending on the volume and any disassembly required. We quote on the phone or can do a quick walkthrough for larger commercial jobs. Call David at (817) 680-2600 to discuss your specific situation.
Can office furniture be donated?
Quality office furniture in good condition, name-brand desks, ergonomic chairs, and solid conference tables, can have resale or donation value. Habitat for Humanity ReStores in DFW accept some office furniture. Nonprofit organizations and schools sometimes take functional office furniture. If you have time to explore this before the crew comes, some items may be worth a donation call. For everything else, we haul it.
