North Texas sun and weather break down outdoor furniture fast. A patio set that was fine three years ago may be rusted, faded, and past the point of being worth fixing or selling. Grills corrode, lawn equipment quits, and outdoor structures accumulate around most DFW backyards over time. Here is how removal works and what to expect.
What we haul from yards and patios
- Patio furniture sets. Tables, chairs, loungers, and umbrellas. Metal, wood, wicker, or resin. Working or not. We haul the whole set.
- Grills and smokers. Gas grills, charcoal grills, pellet smokers, and fire pits. Note: remove any remaining propane tanks before we arrive. Full or partially full propane tanks cannot go in the truck. Empty tanks are fine.
- Lawn equipment. Riding mowers, push mowers, tillers, aerators, and other equipment that has stopped running or is being replaced. Drain fluids where possible before pickup.
- Swing sets and play structures. Wood or metal. If the structure needs to be broken down to be moved, we handle that as part of the job.
- Trampolines. These need to be partially disassembled for loading. We handle the disassembly on-site.
- Pool equipment. Above-ground pool frames, liners, pumps, and accessories after a pool is removed. We take the debris, not the water.
What it costs
Outdoor furniture and equipment pricing follows the same volume-based model as indoor junk. A patio table and chair set runs $125 to $200. A grill runs $75 to $125. A full backyard cleanout with a mix of furniture, equipment, and debris runs $250 to $450 depending on volume and what is there. Call and describe the situation. We price on the phone.
Before the crew arrives
For grills: disconnect and remove the propane tank. Even empty tanks need to stay out of the haul truck. For gas-powered lawn equipment: drain the fuel tank or run the engine until it is empty. For anything still functional: if you think it might have resale value, take a photo and post it free on Marketplace the day before. Riding mowers in working condition sell. Grills in good shape sell. Patio furniture sets that are in decent shape move quickly on Nextdoor. Let the market take what it wants and call us for everything left.
Propane tanks: what to do with them
Full or partial propane tanks cannot go in a junk removal truck. Most hardware stores in DFW, including Home Depot, Lowe's, and Blue Rhino exchange locations, accept or exchange old tanks. For tanks you want to dispose of without exchange, call your local fire department for guidance on the safest method in your area.
