Washers and dryers are among the heaviest and most awkward household appliances to deal with when it is time to replace them. They are plumbed in, vented, and often stuck in a tight laundry room or closet. Here is exactly how removal works and what to expect in Grapevine and across the DFW area.

Do you need to disconnect anything first?

No. We handle disconnection as part of the removal. For a washer, we turn off and disconnect the water supply lines. For an electric dryer, we unplug the power cord. For a gas dryer, we shut off the gas valve at the appliance and disconnect the dryer from the line. We cap the gas line when we are done.

The one thing to mention when you call: whether the dryer is gas or electric. Gas dryers require an extra step and some additional care. It takes about the same amount of time, but we like to know upfront.

What it costs

If you are replacing both units and the new appliances are being delivered, ask the delivery company first whether they take the old ones. Many retailers include appliance removal at delivery or charge a small fee for it. If they do, that is usually the simplest option. If they do not, call us.

Stackable units and tight laundry closets

Stackable washer-dryer units in a closet or narrow laundry room add time because of the access constraints. The top unit has to come down before the bottom unit can come out. This is manageable but takes longer than units in an open laundry room. Mention when you call if your units are stacked or in a tight space. We factor that into the quote.

What happens to the units after pickup

Working washers and dryers in decent condition go to resellers or donation channels. Non-working units go to certified metal recyclers where the steel, copper, and other metals are recovered. We do not landfill appliances that can be recycled.

Same-day availability

Washer and dryer removal is a same-day job in most cases when you call before noon. These are quick jobs, typically 20 to 40 minutes on-site, which makes them easy to fit into a day's schedule. Call and we will tell you what the same-day availability looks like.
