People new to junk removal often wonder exactly what a crew does and does not do. The answer varies by company. Here is a clear breakdown of what Elrod Junk Removal includes in every job in Grapevine and DFW.

What is included

All labor

The crew does every bit of physical work. Lifting, carrying items from wherever they are in the home, navigating stairs and hallways, loading the truck. You do not move anything. The only thing you do is point at what is going and what is staying.

Disassembly of items that need it

Bed frames, large sectional sofas, big desks, and other items that will not fit through a doorway in one piece are disassembled as part of the job. This is not an add-on charge for standard furniture. We bring the tools and handle it.

Appliance disconnection

Washers, dryers, dishwashers, and refrigerators are disconnected from water lines, electrical connections, or gas lines before removal. Tell us at booking if a dryer is gas so we can prepare accordingly.

Hauling and disposal

We load the truck and take everything away. We handle all disposal, including certified e-waste recycling for electronics, proper refrigerant handling for appliances, and donation drop-off for usable items.

Donation sorting

Usable items, furniture in decent condition, working appliances, household goods, are separated and taken to local DFW donation centers rather than disposal. This happens as part of the job without extra charge or coordination on your end.

Sweep after loading

When everything is loaded, the crew sweeps the area. You get a cleared, broom-clean space when we leave.

What is not included

Deep cleaning

Junk removal leaves the space empty and swept. It does not include mopping, scrubbing, sanitizing, or professional cleaning services. For a fully cleaned property after a major cleanout, hire a cleaning company after the junk crew finishes.

Hazardous materials

Liquid paint, asbestos, propane tanks, motor oil, pesticides, and certain chemicals are not accepted. We flag these during the job and let you know what to do with them. See our complete list of what we will not take.

Tree service work

We haul brush, limbs, and debris that have already come down. We do not climb trees, cut live trees, or grind stumps. That is a separate tree service job.

Moving furniture to a new location

We haul to disposal or donation, not to a new address. If items need to go from your old home to your new home, that is a moving company job. We handle what is not going anywhere.
