You just moved and your new home is full of empty boxes, packing paper, bubble wrap, and miscellaneous items that did not survive the "should this come with us" decision. The move itself is done, but the cleanup is not. Here are the fastest ways to handle it in the Grapevine and DFW area.

Cardboard boxes: free options

Give them away on Nextdoor or Marketplace. Moving boxes in good condition are useful to someone else about to move. Post "free moving boxes, you pick up" and most of them will be claimed within a day or two. Someone will come get them. This is the zero-effort option if you have a few days of patience.

Break them down for curbside recycling. Grapevine and most DFW cities accept flattened cardboard in curbside recycling pickup. Break down the boxes, flatten them, and set them at the curb on your recycling collection day. Free, and cardboard is one of the most recyclable materials there is. The limit: most cities have size or quantity caps on what they will take in a single collection. A full moving truck's worth of boxes may take several weeks of recycling pickups to clear.

Drop off at a recycling center. If you want everything gone at once, most DFW municipalities have recycling drop-off centers that accept cardboard. Call your city's solid waste department for the nearest location.

Packing materials: bubble wrap, paper, foam

Bubble wrap and foam packing materials are not typically accepted in curbside recycling. Options: save bubble wrap for your own future moves or shipping, offer it on Marketplace, or bag it for regular trash. Packing paper can go in recycling if clean. Styrofoam packing blocks need to go to a specialty recycler or general waste.

Items that did not make the move

Most moves leave behind a few items that were supposed to come and did not, or items from the old place that got mixed in with the move and do not have a home in the new one. For furniture, appliances, and anything bulky, a junk crew is the fastest option. We haul same-day in most cases and take everything from wherever it is in the home.

When to call us

Call us when you have more than curbside recycling can handle, when you have furniture or appliances mixed in with the boxes, or when you just want everything cleared at once without making multiple trips. A typical post-move cleanout in Grapevine and DFW runs $150 to $300 for a mix of boxes, packing material, and leftover items. Price on the phone before we come.
